Celebrated Finnish composer Petri Alanko once again joined forces with Remedy Entertainment to craft the hauntingly immersive score for Alan Wake II. Building on his acclaimed work from the original Alan Wake (2010), Alanko’s music in the long-anticipated sequel plays a crucial role in deepening the psychological horror experience that defines the franchise.
Alanko, known for blending electronic textures with orchestral depth, approaches Alan Wake II with a darker, more experimental palette. His soundtrack mirrors the dual protagonists and layered narrative, weaving dissonant synths, eerie motifs, and emotionally charged orchestration to reflect the descent into madness and the blurred lines between fiction and reality.
"Petri’s music doesn’t just support the game - it shapes the atmosphere," says the development team at Remedy. The score is tightly interwoven with the storytelling, helping to build tension, accentuate surreal transitions, and ground the emotional arcs of the characters.
