Paul Farrer Scores New Game Show Format Y Deis for S4C and TG4
Dynamic new score sets the pace for landmark gameshow partnership.
The Composerworks’ Paul Farrer - known for his work on The Weakest Link, The Chase and The Wheel is bringing his signature energy and tension-driven musical style to Y Deis, a brand-new game show format commissioned by S4C and produced by Slam Media.
The innovative Welsh-language quiz show blends general knowledge, strategy, and luck, with three teams of two competing to build their prize pot through quick thinking and sharp play. At the heart of the format is a custom-built dice machine (the “deis”), which adds an unpredictable twist to each round.
The format was created and developed by Slam Media, with creative lead Gavin Cox inspired by his late father’s work as a fruit machine game designer - a fitting tribute in a show where luck, skill, and knowledge collide.
Y Deis will premiere on S4C this winter, with An Deis following on TG4 in spring 2026.
