Soundology to score new Netflix murder series

3-part series to examine infamous Ireland murder

Sophie Toscan du Plantier was a French film and TV producer who was killed while at her isolated holiday cottage in West Cork, Ireland, just days before Christmas in 1996.

Regarded as one of the most notorious murders in Ireland in recent history, it is to be the subject of a three-part Netflix series, scored by Nainita Desai (Enslaved with Samuel L. Jackson, For Sama).

Produced by Oscar-winning production company Lightbox, the documentary will bring together contributions from du Plantier's family with that of Ian Bailey, the man at the centre of the investigation.

My Scientology Movie director John Dower is attached to direct, while the executive producers are Simon Chinn, Jonathan Chinn, and Suzanne Lavery.

The series is set to broadcast in 2021.

Soundology's most recent true-crime Netflix documentary is American Murder: The Family Next Door (2020) which, according to Netflix, is the most watched documentary on the platform to date.
