Luci Holland
Luci Holland is an award-winning Scottish composer and sound artist who composes and produces music and audiovisual art for film, games and concert.
Luci composed the original dynamic/responsive game music for Blazing Griffin‘s 2018 release Murderous Pursuits, and live action fantasy film Sayo in 2020, with the soundtrack winning a New Music Scotland EVM Award for New Music in Media in 2021. More recently she has provided music & sound support for Fluyo, CRT7 by Scottish BAFTA-winning developer Amicable Animal; original game music for Playhead by Lowtek Games; and concept music for Personasmith by Thunkd (all currently in development).
Luci also builds and designs interactive audiovisual installations & creative technology-inspired live performances, with works including Dream Visualiser (Alt-w, 2023); Trees of Life (with We Throw Switches & Robin Baumgarten, 2023); Spectral Ballroom (with Florence Richardson, Hidden Door 2022); Below the Blanket (Cryptic August 2019), inspired by the Scottish Flow country and related bogland research and restoration; interactive audiovisual experience Refraction (Cryptic March 2018) in collaboration with Tom Sulat, Ross Blair, & Projector Club; and custom-built site-specific dynamic sound installation CITADEL (Hidden Door 2017). She was among 8 artistic practitioners selected to participate on Serious Music‘s Learning & Participation career development programme (LEAP), and in February 2019 visited CMMAS in Mexico as a resident audiovisual artist and spent two weeks exploring digital art & vocal improvisation techniques.
From 2019 – 2024 Luci joined classical music station Scala Radio to present The Console, a weekly one-hour UK national show dedicated to celebrating great music in games, which at the time is one of the longest running weekly video game music radio shows to broadcast continuously and totalled at 260 shows. She was a BAFTA Scotland Game juror in 2016, 2019 and 2020; a D.I.C.E Music Panelist in 2020 & 2021; a BAFTA Game Music juror in 2021; an Ivor Novello judge for Best Original Video Game score in 2022; a former IGDA Scholar; became an Ambassador with the Women in Games Ambassador programme in 2020; joined the BAFTA Games Crew in 2021, and BAFTA Connect in 2023. She also works additionally as a creative technologist & musical director with Tinderbox Collective. Currently she is composing bespoke game music tracks for other films, games and interactive media.
