Old Jack's Boat

Bernard Cribbins starred double-Bafta winning Old Jack’s Boat scored by Paul Honey.

Old Jack, a retired fisherman, tells tall stories from his time at sea from inside his old fishing boat, The Rainbow. Using a mix of live action and animation, Old Jack is able to wander along the seabed, visit tropical islands and fly high in the air on balloons.

His faithful dog, Salty, always accompanies him as he wanders through the streets of Staithes, North Yorkshire, meeting his friends along the way.

Music for all series was composed by Paul Honey and recorded with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.

What our client says about us

“Paul created a wonderfully rich textured soundscape for OLD JACK’S BOAT. The orchestralarrangements were epic, witty, full of fun, tenderness and pathos and they perfectly complimented the stories being told. His ability to mix varied musical genres and instruments but still maintain an overall unity of musical style has made the show outstanding. He was also a pleasure to work with.”
