Paul Honey has scored Summer’s Gift, a short film directed by David Whitney (Moving On).
Summer’s Gift screened at the Kino Film Festival (The Manchester International Short Film Festival) to a packed theatre this week as part of the Made Up North programme. It has has also been selected for the Imperial War Museum’s Short Film Festival in London, and will be screened there on the 27th February 2016.
The film is set during the summer of 1943 and tells the story of a former soldier who, searching for work, passes by an isolated farm in the heart of rural England. Labouring as a farm hand, he soon develops a bond with the farmer’s young daughter which helps him through the horrors of the war he has recently experienced.
The 30-minute short film is made by Millhouse Films and directed by David Whitney (Moving On).
