Multi-award winning composer Jamie Salisbury is best-known for his eclectic and versatile work for film, TV, games, trailers, contemporary dance and pop artists.
Passionate about the storytelling capabilities of music, Jamie uses his broad musical talents to capture emotion and drama in order to help producers and directors achieve their narrative vision.
With a background in jazz and classical music allied with his talents in cutting-edge music production, he is as comfortable working with live musicians and symphony orchestras as he is with synths and samples.
Following a degree in 20th Century Music from the University of Sussex, Jamie pursued his passion for scoring with a Masters degree in Composition for Film and TV at London College of Music. He now enjoys his role as a visiting lecturer on the Composition for Media module at the University of Westminster.
An accomplished pianist and keyboard player with a love of jazz, funk and soul, Jamie has performed around the world, appearing on stage at Ronnie Scott’s, and with pop artists including Sir Paul McCartney.
In 2011, he composed the world’s first orchestral score for the eBook novel ENDWORLDS: ECHOES OF WORLDS PAST, recorded with a 72-piece orchestra in Prague.
Jamie’s recent soundtracks include the feature film UP ALL NIGHT (starring David Mitchell), SUGAR FREE FARM (ITV1), THE BABY BOOMERS GUIDE TO GROWING OLD (Avalon/More4) and Microsoft’s SECRETS AND TREASURE: THE LOST CITIES.
His reputation for delivering outstanding production music for libraries including EMI Sony/ATV, led to his music being featured in the 2018 cinematic trailer for CAN YOU EVER FORGIVE ME? (starring Melissa McCarthy).
Other placements include the title theme for BBC documentary BLOOD AND GOLD: THE MAKING OF SPAIN, TV trailers for Disney’s PRINCESS ELENA OF AVALOR, Marvel’s FANTASTIC FOUR, HOUSE OF CARDS (Germany), TV shows such as TOP GEAR, THE VOICE (BBC), NBA BASKETBALL and WORLD CUP CRICKET (Sky).
His music has featured on TV and cinema advertising campaigns for HOLLAND & BARRETT, CARPHONE WAREHOUSE, HUAWEI and COSTA COFFEE.
Jamie regularly collaborates with the UK’s top session musicians and orchestras, including The BBC Concert Orchestra, The English Session Orchestra and the London Community Gospel Choir, and frequently records in Europe with the Max Steiner Orchestra (Vienna), the Hungarian Studio Orchestra and the Prague Philharmonic.
His compositions for stage include the soundtrack for 2017’s HELLOWORLD at Birmingham’s Genting Arena and his innovative immersive score for WATSON, the Sherlock Holmes themed production from C-12 Dance Theatre.
Jamie is currently creating the soundtrack for a forthcoming 52-part CBeebies series along with co-writer Ellie Wyatt.
