Brains & Hunch (Tom Haines and Chris Branch) joined The Composerworks’ roster in 2017.
Their sound is as raw and handmade as it is unconventional and original. Their credits range from the Virgin flight safety film (which is how they came to be signed!) to channel ident music for the CBBC Channel.
With studios based in London, their clients include Disney, Dreamworks, 9 Story, CBBC and CBeebies.
Brains & Hunch’s music composition, foley and sound design happens in their amazingly spacious and well-equipped Pro Tools HD studios and live room in Hoxton N1. The two studios have an array of unusual and rare acoustic instruments – ranging from kazoos to chinese drums – and classic outboard equipment, lots of interesting old microphones, analogue synthesisers and organs.
Their 2017 commissions include Luo Bao Bei, a forthcoming 52-part animation series for CCTV in China made by Cloth Cat Animation, and a forthcoming 26-part series for CBeebies, to be announced later this year.
